Going to the dentist on a routine basis is one of the best oral habits that you could adopt. However, once you leave the dentist it’s important that you stick to habits that will help keep your teeth healthy between visits. In a previous blog we’ve mentioned what the standards for your oral health routine should look like, but we have a few tips that you might not have known that will improve your smile!
Toothbrush
Having a good toothbrush is important. Having too soft of a toothbrush makes it difficult to remove all of the plaque and bacteria that builds up on your teeth, but too hard of a brush could ruin the enamel on your teeth. Finding a good medium brush will ensure that your mouth is clean, and in tip top shape. Make sure to change your toothbrush about every three months or as soon as the bristles are frayed.
Vitamin C
Your teeth and gums are made up of calcium, so it’s necessary that you continue to provide high amounts of calcium to keep them healthy. Eating at least one meal a day that is full of vitamin C will help maintain the strength of your smile. If you’re not eating meals that are loaded with vitamin C, adding a supplement can help keep your teeth strong.
These two tips can make a huge difference in the strength, appearance and cleanliness of your teeth. Make sure to take a minute to consider your day to day actions and take into account the amount of time that you’ve been using your toothbrush or other oral health products. And , as always, make sure that you visit your dentist in Lady Lake every six months!
